Training

I am a positive reinforcement trainer which means I will NOT use;

  • Shock Collars: shock can cause phobias, stress, and fear-based behaviors like aggression
  • Choke Chains: cause injuries to the trachea and esophagus, injuries to blood vessels in the eyes, neck sprains, nerve damage, fainting, transient paralysis and even death
  • Prong Collars: designed to cause pain or discomfort to the animal
  • ANY OTHER AVERSIVE METHODS: i.e. physical correction, unpleasant loud sounds or any negative associations

Positive reinforcement, commitment and consistency will have a life long effect along with building a strong relationship between owner and pet. We train at a consistent pace that sets the pet parent and dog up for success. We will never put you in a situation you cannot handle. You will have the skills and tools to have a well mannered dog. Every family with a dog has a different dynamic so we offer a variety of training packages that will fit the needs of you and your family.

Training Packages

We will need to perform an assessment on your pup in order to provide you with the correct training package. All packages are customizable to fit the needs of you and your furry family member. The different packages are as follows:

  • Puppy Training (starting at $600, age 7 weeks – 6 months) During puppy training we will use and work the puppies cognitive function, working their brain and incorporating cognitive exercises. We will cover ALL puppy issues and help you and your puppy grow together. Desensitization, potty, crate, hand signals, exposure, reinforcement values, sit, leash walking, watch and puppy nipping are among some of the topics covered.
  • Basic Training (starting at $700, age 6 months – 5 years) During our basic training program we will build upon the 3 D’s ( Duration, Distance and Distractions) If you and your pup have never gone through training we will instill behaviors prior to building upon the 3 D’s. Sit, stay, calm/settle, down, come when called, drop it, leave it, watch and loose leash walking.
  • Behavioral Training (starting at $750, any age) Our behavioral training program is completely customizable. Struggling with bad behaviors is something that could easily be changed with some basic training however, behavioral training is often times much more in depth. We request a meet and greet first in order to asses the behavioral concerns. Some training we cover is reactivity, excessive/overbearing behavior, confidence building, social skills and destructive behaviors.
  • CGC (Canine Good Citizen, $800 includes test and all paperwork) We can help you prepare for CGC and Service/Therapy Dog training by helping you and your furry family member pass the CGC test which is provided by the AKC that certifies your dog in being a good canine citizen. At the end of the course you and your pup will take the test and receive your certificate from the AKC upon passing the test.
  • Grooming Training (Price assessed during training evaluation) This is a program you won’t find many trainers or groomers offering. Grooming can sometimes be a long and scary process for your pup. During this program we will work on grooming desensitization and work at your dogs pace in order to make them completely comfortable with the process. Positive reinforcement, patience and enrichment will be used to help them enjoy their groom. From the bath to the dryer, brush, clipping and nails, we will make the process enjoyable and stress free. At the end of every session we will communicate your dog’s struggles, fears and successful moments. We will always do what is in the best interest of your furry family member.
